Woodworking wasn't something Norman Pirollo learned overnight.
His woodworking education began with formal cabinetmaking studies before he established a small business producing high-end jewelry boxes. Looking for a deeper understanding of furniture making, Norman went on to study furniture making in a school influenced by the philosophy and teaching of James Krenov.
That experience became the foundation for his own approach to furniture design and making.
Over the years, Norman has designed and built furniture, operated woodworking businesses, written books and articles, taught woodworking, and developed educational resources for woodworkers.
Norman has written several books on the woodworking and furniture making topic as well as writing articles for magazines such as Fine Woodworking. His book, WOODWORKING: FROM DESIGN TO MAKING describes the unique furniture design and making process applied in his furniture studio. His recent book, Quiet Woodworking: In An Unquiet World, delves into Norman's embrace of hand tools in his woodworking and furniture making.
